Gemma our lab is now 16 months old and is just coming into her second season, could anybody verify how long it lasts for, I can't remember her first season that well now and now she is older we tend to let her off the lead a bit more so I'm keeping her back on it until the season ends (too many alert males out there)!!!

It'll last about 21 days - keep her secure for a bit more to be on the safe side.

Thanks for your reply - will keep her on her lead for a good few weeks but she won't like it, thought she was getting a bit more male attention than normal last week??!!

The average season lasts 21 days, but it can last anywhere from 7-10 days to 35 days (eg, +/- 14 days). If her vulva is still swollen at the 21 day point she is probably still in season. Better to err on the side of being overly cautious.
