Hi Rachael,
Man can they! My male Dane gets it and I find that giving him the kiddies dose of Piriton works very well :D Cheaper to buy it your self than get the vet to prescribe it too, they actually told me that :)

she also seems a bit lethargic, I'm guessing thats just the heat though.
We got her a paddling pool so she could cool off in the garden when she wanted to and the little mare ripped a big hole in the bottom within thirty seconds
So now all she gets is the hose on her!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie hates the heat as well, so we bought him a plastic paddling pool - looks like a shell, with two halfs, and was about 12 quid in argos. No doubt he'll start chewing it eventually, but it will surely be a bit farder wearing than the other types of paddling pool - and he loves it!

Hiya
yes, dogs can get hayfever just as commonly as humans. Your best bet is piriton. You dont need to get it from the vet, you can get it from the chemist ( but it might be an idea just to check with your vet first)
It should sort him out.
good luck.
If your pup keeps sneezing after trying the Piriton (and that worked for my old Lab) there is always a chance there is a grass seed stuck up there somewhere (old Lab did that too!)

Hi Rachael
Barney is sneezing non stop now and vet said it probably was the grass/pollen. I will be glad when he stops cos the poor thing hits his head on the floor every time he sneezes -although he doesnt seem to realise it - what is it with males - no sense no feeling LOL :D :D :)

My westie is allergic to grass and the vet did recommend Piriton tablets. I buy them from a 'big' High Street Chemist when they are 3 packs for the price of 2. If we keep the till receipt it can go on the dog insurance claim and we get our money back!!
My westie started on half a tablet a day and increased to one tablet twice a day.
