This type of thing makes me so angry.

Lady breeds and sells CKCS puppies for approx £450-550 she advertises in free papers and post office/shop windows you can almost always find a litter of hers for sale. Around the area. Pedigree yes, KC yes, but you pay the upper price range :(

Today I picked up a free paper (looking for a cheap fishtank myself) and saw in;

Dogs for sale

"CKC, male, 2.5 years, blenheim,beautiful looking, pedigree, KC reg £300."

Then in Dogs wanted;

"Cavalier bitch wanted, 1-2 yrs old, must have KC reg "

Further down in Dogs wanted;

"King Charles Cavalier, dog wanted, 6-12 months old, must be KC reg and experienced home waiting any colour"

Same phone number. What does that tell you??????

A friend of my sisters Dawn phoned about the pups about 6 months ago and went to see them, there were 2 ltters they had the same father, but pups all mixed in together and only one mom, the other mom had been sold already the lady explained this way she didn't overbreed the bitch :mad: the pups were just 7 weeks old and the lady said she lets the bitches have four litters then sells them to good pet homes :(

Dawn was also told the lady only acepts Cash!!!!!!!the lady also suggested Dawn buy two pups at the same time a brother and sister!!!! as it would be easier to keep them occupied :mad:
And that Cavaliers were one of the healthiest breeds of dog to keep and required little maintenance :(

Luckily Dawn mentioned possibly buying one of the pups to her next door neighbour who has kept pekes for the past 40 years, and she advised her not to buy.

I agree!!!!!!!

I HATE people who make money from animals (especially dogs), it's ok to breed the occasional litter to keep sonething for yourself, sell the pups for a reasonable price and maybe come out with a little profit, but to breed just to make more and more money is selfish and cruel.

It makes you wonder what sort of life some of these dogs have, do they spend their whole lives in crates and pens....they most probably do, do they ever go out for walks, do they get love and attention......I very much doubt it!!!!

Makes me cross to :(

kazztaff - we keep a database of breeders and traders, would you be interested in doing one in your area. Have you contacted trading standards? Is this breeder licensed? please e-mail adogslife@ntlworld.com

Hi, can I suggest that you contact the environmental health department of the council in the area that the lady lives asking them (if you have address or tel number from ads) for the licensing department for dog breeders and pet shops, the person in that department either the licensing officer or dog warden should be able to advise you if the breeder holds a dog breeders licence. If not collect together 5 of this breeders advertertisements selling puppies from 5 different litters within a 12 month period and contact the council again with the evidence that the breeder should be licensed. Be persistant that the Council takes action and prosecutes for unlicensed breeding if neccessary. They may say that they will issue her with a licence, ask them if they will prosecute as well - some will some wont. Contact me if you wish with details and I will follow it through.

Thanks

Never thought I could do something about it, I was just so angry I had to post or scream.

But the fact I have noticed makes me feel responsible for the dogs.

I have fished the paper out of the bin, and will keep an eye out for adverts in shop windows.

Thanks for the advice. I will contact the council tomorrow.

In our local ad trader, there is a chap Wanting to buy, Rotties, G.S.D's and Dogue de Bordeaux's and states excellent homes waiting. In a separate ad be is is advertising Stud Dogs K.C registered, and in a another ad he had puppy's for Sale's.
These same three ads have been in a few weeks, I am always tempted to ring and try and find out why he is buying in all three breeds,then say's excellent homes waiting.
