Hi a have a small toy dog and i wanted to know when her first season is likely to be and how long does it last for?

For a small dog usualy between 5 & 7 months and will last for at least three weeks. Now thats the norm she may have her first any time up to 14 months but I would be worried if she had not done so by 12 months and take her for a check up, some bitches do not last for 3 weeks but until you are more used to her don't risk anything for at least the 3 weeks. JH

I've got a 6 month old Lab. When shoul I expect her first season? Will they take them in kennels if they're in saeson? We're going away at the begining of Feb .

Labs being larger will usualy be latter in season than small dogs I would think between 6 and 14 months. but they are not machines so there is no saying. Kennels will take a bitch in season but make arrangments before hand. JH
