Hi everyone, I still have a few weeks to wait till I collect my cocker pup, hope you don't mind me keep asking loads of questions lol. OK my latest query is.....I understand you can train dogs to 'go' in a certain part of the garden, hence avoiding your plants. One side of my garden is all borders so I'd like to keep Dylan away from that side, the other side is shade so no problems at all. Do I just keep taking him to the area I want him to go on & is there any point buying that gel type stuff Ive seen in pet shops, does it work??

I have tried the dog off gel and it hasn't worked for me ! I used it to stop digging or not as t worked out ! :)

You may find it difficlut to train you dog to go in one place and the only suggestion is to have an area which is seperated from the rest of the garden for him to do his stuff !

hi, yes thats the idea....just take him to that spot every time, as far as the product goes...i dunno i used it with my last litter and found that 2 dogs went there straight away and hardly had any accidents at all! meanwhile the other 3 didnt seem to be bothered at all, so i guess it just depends on the pup really.

Hi
The problem with my puppy wasnt where he went to the loo as it was thankfully always in the correct place, it was the running around the garden pulling up all the flowers that got to us. The more we tried to stop him the more he found it funny and a great game. So my advice to you is if yours starts doing this dont try to push him away and stuff because that made mine worse :D Not exactly on the subject but I thought I would mention it as you seem to love your garden :)
