Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Pee Stained Coats!

What a yucky topic:)
What do those of you who have coated breeds and whiter ones at that use to remove pee stains on dog coats. We have borzoi and they never seem to get truly clean, I have heard that you can use a 3% solution of peroxide on stains - the same sort of strength solution you might use on a cut hand or finger, has anyone ever tried this?
Many thanks

When we were showing our ESS we used to find that when we bathed him, that wetting the coat and then applying dry biological washing powder to the coat, rubbing it in well till it became paste leaving it for a few minutes and then rinsing off made a difference to the pee stains.

You must make sure that none touches the skin and it must be thoroughly rinsed afterwards.

Then we used normal whitening shamppo on the white parts of the coat and finished off with rinsing in water in which a blue bag had been soaked.

Hi, on our stained parti colours we used to use neat fairly liquid, rubbed on to the stained hair only, left for about 10 mins and then owrked into a lather, conditioned and rinsed. Since we discovered the Whal All Out Purple shampoo we use this the same way instead. (had the advantage of smelling great too)

I do know someone who uses peroxide on parti colours, but it can cause serious coat damage (and I think it is against KC rules!)
bye
Gwen
