I am typing this with two fingers well bandaged.

My 8 month old Pickle had his last thing at night Bonio last night, one of the other dogs went to help him and he decided to swallow half of it in one go. He is not very big and got it well and truly lodged halfway down his throat.

Luckily I noticed grabbed him and with husband holding him attempted to pull it out, he at this stage is panicking as he can't get any air and he is also passing out, so he clamped down hard on two of my fingers. I know BT's have large teeth but never realised how large till they went through my two fingers from both sides, luckily he released enough for me to grab the end of the Bonio between my two fingers and slide it back out of his throat.

Hubby didn't know who to deal with first Pickle who is in a state of shock or me with blood pouring out like a stuck pig. :-D One finger is not to bad just a large tear but the other one is right on the joint from both sides, and boy does it hurt.

Guess who is not going to be given a whole Bonio again??

But we still have the little boy thank god, it was a close shave, but made me realise how easily something as innocent as a Bonio could have had dire consequences, if I had not noticed what happened!!!

Oh dear hope your fingers are not too bad today and Pickle is OK ! I would keep an eye out on your fingers as one of my oldies thro being a bit blind missed the biscuit I had for her and put her teeth into my finger ! It got quite infected ! Had to get the Doc to sort it for me !

Ouch!!!!!thats sore, one of the reasons I never, ever give Pigs ears to my lot, one got stuck in the back of the throat a long time ago, it seemed like ages before I got it out. dont give rawhide chews either for the same reasons. Hope you hand heals o.k. and not done any damage to your ligaments.
