My Bitch is in season, we put her with the stud dog on her 10th day and her 12th day today, She is standing for him and tail going to the side, but she wont let him enter her without a fight. when he does get in she screams and he jumps off without a tie, After that and he is tired she goes to him trying to encourage him to get back to it but she tries to mount him.... confused so am I can anyone help. We tried last year to mate her as she only comes into season once a year, But even though he got in they did not tie and we missed her this year I'm well confused.

Some bitches will indicate they are ready to stand and then change their minds until they really are ready. Is the dog experienced?

Is he normally ready to mate bitches anytime or only when they are spot on?

She may not be ready yet - keep trying every other day. Mine wasn't ready till day 18 and we successfully had a litter.

Has she been given an internal (by someone who knows how, obviously!) to check she doesn't have a stricture?
