Most breeders of vizslas have a waiting list for their puppies may I suggest you contact as many breeders as you can go and meet them and their dogs and if you like what you see ask what the time scale is (approximatley) for a puppy to be available, dont be suprised if you have to wait well over a year for a puppy. :)

kao kate is right though it could be longer for bitch. We were lucky and got our boy a litter earlier than planned. Every breeder has a different look. You should find the one you like most, it surprised me how different one vizsla can look next to another even the colour can be very different. There are even vizsla breeders who dont dock now, so have a good look for what you want. If you want more advise you can email me cos I know a few breeders who will get on the road to a pup.

Good luck and nearly welcome to the gingernut gang!!

Hi Liz
you must be a ginger nutter lover as well then what lines is your dog?
And to the guest I must say in my eyes they are well worth the wait!
We have had the vizslas for a long time now and they are great and as Liz said the lines can be quite different even while still complying with the breed standard.
They are also avery demanding breed so please do your research first
(if you havent already) ;)
I would be more than happy to give you any help and advice you may want on the breed if you would like to email me privately.
:)

Hey KK yep guilty as charged a ginger lover!! Eros is Roytan bred with Galfrid sire gardenway and pitwarren grandparents. Basically a long lean pretty boy !! His brother much more hansome, Eros twin with his sister!! Girly boy big style!! Planning our next after Crufts (cant be dealing with puppy stress while crufts stress already building!!) Eros being our first show dog. Great to meet another vizsla champdogger! Are you at Windsor?

Hi Kate

Yep they really are addictive, Im trying to hang out till after Crufts, for another but only time will tell!! Eros is so in your face great, you just have to love him, though I think we are lucky cos he is vey laid back too. (he falls asleep in the show ring waiting his turn!!)

We got Sh Ch Galfrid Whig and Sh Ch Galfrid Rosa as Gr Gr Grandparents his Mums mum was Swanton Zest of Roytan!! But then I suppose with a relatively small breed the same names come up everywhere dont they?

We started showing after breeder encouraged us very glad she did. We just started gundog training a bit late, but he seems to be getting it ok. Looking forward to being confident enough to do our first field trial. Still next time I will be there sooner and with any luck I will be a bit more confident and learned myself!! Poor Eros has been a bit of guinea pig with me learning too but he has coped very well. Good luck with your pups! We will keep an eye out for you now!!
