Hello

I have a 10 month old cocker puppy and I am having a hard time breaking him of peeing in the house. He was house broaken for a while minus a couple booboos here and there but now when i take him out he wont go and he waits to come in and pee. I have tried to keep him out longer so if he has to go bad he will go outside but nothing is working. Recentally he is peeing next to you or close to you and when he knows you saw him he runs and sticks his bum in the air and wants to play(and he is not lacking in that department). I dont know what to do nothing is working. I have tried putting him outside, making him sit in one place,giving him a little pat on the bum and saying hes a bad boy, and even putting him in his cage which i know is bad but i just dont know what to do. Can anyone help PLEASE

this is how i got my dogs and puppies housebroken.
i took my dogs/puppies out at 40 minute intervals daily (genrally the more opportunity your dog has to pass urine/faeces in the correct place with a reward,the faster he will learn to understand where he needs to go to the toilet)
he will need to pass urine/faeces in particualar after a nap,meal time or a walk/playtime.
watch you dog,you WILL learn his body clock,signs that he wants to go to the toilet are :-
1) he may sneak off
2) restlessness
3)sniffing the floor or an area
4)circling
5)squatting
At times when you cannot supervise your dog place him into his cage,with only newspaper/or an old blanket or vetbet.
if you catch your dog urinating or passing faeces say "NO" in a deep firm voice.DO NOT SHOUT AT HIM.
the most important thing is PRAISE when he does it correctly.
