Hi everyone,

a dog in the local pound who came in two weeks ago and was vaccinated a couple of days later has now been discovered to be 5/6 weeks pregnant

does any one know the potential harm which this may do the pups?

I am not sure but I just wanted to say hope things out well for her.

This is going to sound daft but I remember a lady who was pregnant at the sametime as me and she had had vaccines for going abroad for her honeymoon at 16 weeks , she never knew she was pregnant. I remember she was in having her baby and although she was fussed over and monitored I believe everything was infact fine in the end. Sorry not a doggy example.

Hi Theresa,
A smiliar thing happened at our local rescue kennels some time ago. Sadly if I remember rightly, of the two pups born one died suddenly from a heart defect at about 12 weeks and I think the other had heart problems too.
Whether it was vaccine related or not I don't know??
Hope your vet can advise?
