My labrador is nearly one years old and I was just wondering if somebody could shed some light on breeding information for me. I am not sure whether to let him breed yet and would just appreciate some information and advice as I didnt buy him for this purpose however have been told he would be a lovely dog to produce puppies:)

Thanks

Before you breed at the very least your lab should be Hip Scored with a score under 16 and Eye Tested clear. Details of these can be found Here

He should also be shown and/or worked to prove he is a good specimen.

And bear in mind you will have responsibity for any puppies he produces for the rest of their lives.

It can also change a dogs temperment.
