Hello all

I haven-t been a member on this board for very long but have found the majority of you to be funny, friendly people. I am feeling a little down today as my partner is in the forces and has gone away for six months, I do get to go out for three weeks but that is not until September. At least I have my two bulldogs for company, anyone has any good jokes or anything funny to say I would appreciate it.

Regards

Jolene

Oh dear Jolene :(

Poor you , never mind ..you will just have to spend ALL your time on here for the next 6 months and the time will pass quickly , then you will have a terrible addiction by the time your other half gets back ;) :)

I agree with Mel use all your spare time on here (like we all do :-D) and the time will fly by I promise. LOL

It can get heated sometimes but that is the nature of the beast, we can't all agree all the time, but what it definitely is, is that it is addictive!!!

Hi Jo.

Sorry to hear you are feeling low, I to am feeling the same, just had confimation from the hospital, that my mum (57) has a brain tumour on the right side of the brain, and is being admitted to the Alexandra Hospital in Cheshire (70 miles 1 way drive) a week tomorrow for removal of it, (thank goodness they think its benign) we are both besides ourselves as there is only the two of us left in our family. I am trying to be strong and not allow mum to know just how its affecting me, but its darn hard :-(

I was supposed to be showing next Friday at Blackpool, but that is looking very doubtful now, as mum is the driver :-( I'm the non-driver just my luck eh, it would have taken my mind off what is happening for a few hours, I have the car but no driver :-(

Thank god for friends that have offered to take me to visit mum in the evenings after they finish work, without these people I would be lost, and I am ever so grateful to them all :-)

Hope you feel a little brighter real soon
<<<hugs>>>>

Thanks you Emma & Jo.

All my close friends are working, as the show is on Friday, if it had fallen on the weekend then there wouldn't have been a problem. Can't win can I :-/

Hi Jo

Thank you for your compliments on my babies :-) I luv the little horrors to death :-)
I did start to learn to drive some years ago, and after my divorce I didn't carry on with it, to many other things going on at that time, and put it off, NOW i wish I hadn't :-(

So sorry to hear that Karen

My sadness pales into insignificance when you realise what you are going through - I really am so very sorry and hope that everything works out for you and your mum. Can one of your friends who is taking you to visit your mum not take you to the show - just an idea.

My thoughts are with you

I'm with you there Jolene.

However, regarding your comment about your other half - I wish mine was still in the forces and could go away for a bit!!!

Ooooh to have a clean and tidy kitchen.

Jolene

Keep your chin up ! :)

I have been off work for nearly four months now and I am mostly housebound as have a very bad pelvis problem thro pregnancy with another 9 weeks to go before the lump may appear ! I have been on very strong painkillers and have now been put on antidepressants for extra pain relief but if this has no success I am going to be taken into hospital and put on morphine. I have been through very depressed times throughout but manage to pick myself up. :) Keep looking positively at the situation as I am trying to do and tell yourself it is only a temporary thing and think of when it will be over. That is what I am trying to do !

Karen

Do hope your mums Op is a success and things work out !

My laptop and Champdogs have really helped me as well and have kept me amused for hours :D

Hi Lucy

But you're gonna have a baby at the end of it! I love babies!! I know it doesn't help now, the only thing that can help now is a "willis anecdote"... I shouldn't laugh really, but here goes...

Jon (t'other half) took Will for a walk, across the horses field, to the other field where Willis plays. Anyway, on the way back, Willis decided to bound up to the horses, who promptly took off. Willis (stupidly) gave chase, at which point the horse turned round and starting galloping toward Willis. I happened to look out of the window to see Willis flat out racing accross the field with 2 horses in hot pursuit.

I ran out, Jon was at the gate calling him when he turned round with the horses still galloping after him, snorting, when Jon opened the gate and Willis shot through. The horse came up to the gate and snorted at him and he was licking their noses. Jon had a mild heart attack and I was doubled up with laughter.

When will that dog ever learn?

Chloe :)

Thank you Lucy

Sorry to hear about your situation :-( many thanks for your concern for my mum, I',m trying to remain positive about it, but when your sat on your own as you'll know, your mind goes into overdrive doesn't it :-(

Best wishes

So long as both you and your mum stay positive, that is the most important thing :)
