hi everyone again! last nite i was stroking molly's belly as somone else suggested on this board and she seems to like it so thanks for the suggestion! but there was a lot of gurgling noises coming from in there! shes now seven weeks gone is this normal or the sign of something more serious? it certainly was very cute to listen to if its just the pups moving or something but just wanted to make sure that this is nothing to worry about.
thanks again for all the info! im begining to wonder what i would do without this board! :)

Hi Lizzy
I'm sure you've not offended anyone. Sorry, I can't help as I know next to nothing about breeding.
Hopefully someone will be along shortly to put your mind at ease.
Good luck with the whelping

Hi Lizzy
Glad to hear that she is enjoying her belly rubs :-D
You have to remember that those pups are growing at a great rate now, so her other organs are being pretty squashed, hence the gurgling noises probably from her intestines. Probably nothing to worry about.
How many meals are you feeding her per day, my bitch is now on 3 a day to ease the pressure in her tum.

iv tried feeding her in the morning and at nite but i dont seem to be able to find a puppy food that she likes. so far iv tried bakers but someone said it was full of colourings so i switched her onto pedigree which she doesn't seem to like much either. iv tried mixing it with bread and a tiny bit of milk for moisture milk but the crafty bu**er just eats the bread! im going to start giving her three small meals like you said as last nite she had quite a big dinner cos gave her some bits of sausages, hopefully this will ease the pressure on her other organs like you said. just can't believe how much her stomach has grown though!
Some of my bitches get finicky the closer they get to whelping, so I'm afraid I feed them anything they like in the last few days, tinned meat, pilchards, tuna, my particularly like milky pudding with scrambled eggs.
She may well be like that after whelping for a few days and again anything that she will eat is the answer.
If she had sausages last night then that could be your answer it was probably wind causing the gurgling. LOL :-D

A couple of weeks before whelping my girl would only eat tuna and pasta and SAUSAGES.........lol. After whelping she would eat everything and anything in sight!

glad its nothing serious! couldn't understand why she was suddenly being so picky about the biscuit food as usually she wolfs it down. seems, she now thinks that just because shes pregnant i should start cooking her food rather than taking it from the bag and plonking it in her bowl! :) don't mind really- made her scrambled eggs today which she liked just wanted to make sure i wasn't giving her too much of a rich diet. now i know its ok wont mind giving her whatever she wants. i find it fascinating watching her- shes so cute! her belly wobbles when she waddles! :) now going to make lady muck (hehe!) some eggs and sausages.

Hi My girl also hates the puppy food but i added some dog meat to and mashed it all up, "only a little" then mixed the whole lot togther and she only wants the meat but as its all mashed up and stuck to the puppy mix she eats that too, dont know if it would work for yours but that is the only way i can get my girl to eat it! even now after whelping it is the only way i can get her to eat it!
good luck lou

thanks tried that last nite- all the food went but in the corner of her bed is a tiny pile of little bisciuts so she ate the chicken and rice but somehow managed to avoid the biscuits shes so crafty! though the pile is quite small so at least she ate some. thanks for all the advice! :)
