Can anyone help? About a week ago my 2 year old daughter woke at about 3am and did the hugest most industrial strength nuclear wee on her bedroom floor. (Bless). Anyway I didn't want to go downstrairs for the disinfectant and wake the puppy and risk him not settling again, so I mopped it up with water and a j.cloth. Since then I have scrubbed the carpet with a scrubbibg brush, used hot water and disinfectant, washing powder, vanish, dettol floor cleaner and even odourkill which we had got for the dog. Yesterday we took up the carpet and cut out what we presumed was the offending piece of underlay and replaced it before cleaning BOTH sides of the carpet (AGAIN) and relaying it. We just CAN NOT get rid of the smell of wee and its quite a new carpet. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks,

Cathryn

Have you tried a weak solution of ammonia ? It should do the trick for you.

Surgical spirits got the smell of cat wee off our carpet -so if it will shift that I would think it would shift most things
good luck

Neat cheap (white) vinegar will do the trick, once its dried it won't smell at all.

Bicarbonate of Soda, used like Shake'n'Vac and left for a couple of hours before hoovering, is very good - make sure your carpet's dry first, though!!
