I am a freelance photographer mainly taking pictures of wild and domestic animals. I looking for animals to build a web site and in particular Dogs. I wondered if anyone knew of anyone that breeds dogs or knows anyone that has dogs or even cats in Scotland. I live in Grantown on Spey (12 miles north of Aviemore) but I am prepared to travel for the right image.

I will be looking for portrait, show stance and natural shots.

I look forward to hearing from anyone that may be able to help or point me in a direction of someone who can.

Regards

Colin Seddon

I have 3 beautiful dogs and six gorgeous cats that I would be happy to let you take photos of - especially if I could have some of the prints!
I live in north east Scotland, about 30 miles north of Dundee, is this any good?
My animals are all long coats and I know they would make gorgeous photos!

Bear, you must be freezing today! Is it as cold up there as the weather man says?

No disrespect intended towards Colin but seeing his email made me think what a wonderful way this could be to find who has how many and what breeds of dog in a particular area, especially if they are of an aquisitive bent.

The snow is piled up here, I live in the country and it is stunningly beautiful when its like this, I love it, my dogs love it, but the cats hate it!
Colin, you can e mail me privately by clicking on my name and we can discuss things further if you are interested.
Wendy, where did you move to?

Poole on the south coast - about as far south as you can get LOL. The dark winters were getting to me:( Otherwise I quite liked Dundee - was there for 6 years after moving from Southern Canada.

Hi Wendy, I am not sure where Poole is, but why on earth did you move from Canada? I would LOVE to live there, and would move if it wasn't for all my animals! Are you canadian? Do you miss the country?
Its freezing up here just now - minus 4 sometimes, my dogs don't care a jot though as they have big thick coats!

Poole is right on the south coast - in Dorset (by Bournemouth if that helps). Moved from Canada because I married a guy from Liverpool who was training in Scotland - so that's why we spent so much time in Dundee. Would love to go back to Canada, but we've settled here now and have the dogs, and have made a good life so... I do miss the space, cost of living, weather, but in general I'm happy here. Took ages to convince my dad I was happy to stay though - he always hoped we could come back. You know how dad's can be about their daughters.

My dad couldnt wait to be rid of me, I think he was worried that I would end up killing my little sister if I didnt move out!!

Couldn't agree with you more Christine, sorry Colin you hopefully are genuine but it's amazing how the criminal minds work these days, and how many burglaries etc follow afterdouble glazing salesmen, canvassers and the like gain access to houses or information. Ingrid

How about going to local shows, you could find the details in the local dog press. Just whatever you do NEVER take photo's of the dogs in the ring, especially not flash photography. ALWAYS ask permission from the owner. I'm sure if you contacted the secretaries of the club they might be able to help, although they may ask for a small fee.
