My pup has some spots on her face ,when i took her to the vets and asked them to do some skin scrapes it showed up nothing.

any suggestions what may cause this.
She has three near her eye now.

Hi Pamie, Sydney had a spot over his right eye ( in the brown bit) when he was about 9 weeks old. Looked like a small lump.
I at first thought it might be an insect bite but it caused him no irritation, the vet said it could be an ingrowing hair folicle. It stayed with him for quite a few weeks then dissapeared.

Heard an old wives tale a few days after visiting the vet...Put some butter (well Olivio dont use butter) on it. Hey presto Sydneys spot went soon after. I also got my mum to buy my warts (2) off me quite a few years ago, again they went. Te he he the things we will try and believe in. If it works dont knock it. (grin)

Im sure you will find that they dissapear soon if the skin scrapes came out negative. Hopefully they are the same as Sydneys and will go in a few weeks.

hi jackie,
the spots on the eye are heeling ,have notice some under her right front leg,als some thinning of her hair around ther.
a freind had asked if i used any aerosol sprays near her,so i have stopped using an air freshener and have bought a plug in to see if that helps....

Hi pamie, I am glad to hear they are healing. It is so worrying not knowing what these spots are. Perhaps Christine (kerioak) may have some more advice as she breeds dobes. Hope you get some more advice.

Every time I have tried to post on this thread over the last few days Ma Parkins has rudely butted in.

Has she been near an ant's nest - sticking her nose in amoungst plants etc? The thinning (if it is not a naturally thin coated area) could be where she has been rubbing or scratching). There are so many reasons, internal and external for spots and rashes it is almost impossibel to pin them down.

Christine

Thanks for your reply christine,
I'm going to attemp to get her in a bath (if i can) just to wash away any thing that might be irritating her....
If i dont have any luck i might phone breeder back for suggestions......
