Am I the only person who EVERY time I phone up about a puppy there is something not right?
I am after a bichon frise to go with a girl I already have.
I have been looking for a few months now. A few I have phoned up do not have the mothers, or the papers are not back yet. I drove from Cambridge to Manchester to look at one which the woman on the phone told me was healthy, and when I got there it had a hernia.
Today I phone up another couple of adds. The first one had both parents, but although the Father is KC registered, the monther isn't. And they are still trying to charge what a KC dog would fetch!
The second one I phoned said that she didn't have the Mother, when I asked why she said she had bought these two pups a month ago and was selling them as she works. (said they are 12 week old). Surely she knew 4 weeks ago that she worked?
Anyway, I will continue in my search.

Phone up or go to the Kennel Club site and look under Bichon,s.

If you phone the Kennel Club ask for the contact number of the Bichon club, the kennel club allows anyone to advertise their puppies for a fee, the breed clubs are usually more careful who they add to their puppy lists.
Also try a google search on the breed and see if you can find the breed club that way.

I check the kennel club web site, but they are all either too far away, or gone when I phone.
I contacted the Bichon club thingy, but they said they don't keep lists.

blossom maybe you could tell us where abouts in the country you are & then someone with a Toy day catalogue from a champ show could suggest a breeder near you?

Thanks Pauline,
I was hoping to get a puppy during the summer though as I find toilet training is much easier if you can leave the doors open. Thanks though. Manchester was not too far before I went to look at the puppy with the hernia, but I will think twice now unless I am going anyway.
