Can someone help
I know It's normal for a male dog to have his pencil peeping out on occasions, and also puppies too, though I think I've read it is not sexual at that age. I have noticed a couple of times it's happened to my Staffie pup when he's sitting down. But today I got a bit of a shock, I saw my pup licking himself and took no notice but he was doing it bit too much, when I went over to see why I notice his pencil was right out (not just peeping out a bit) I'm talking a good two inches, and staying there, not going back in. That can't be normal surely. The only time I've ever seen that is when a dog is trying to mate, and It's left hanging for a while, while he calms down. Has anyone experienced this before.
I've just checked him and it's still out (must be 10 mins now).
Michelle.

So glad it's not just our randy little staff, his sticks out so far some days it looks like it's going to fall off!!!
Just a typical male I think!!
It's just a boy thing and Lipstick is a great word to describe it and you can use it in the house when we have guests and no-one will know what we're referring to.

*lol* Our new boy Badger is the same, he's about 2-3 years old, we're getting him neutered next week! And yes, his comes out when there's someone round (was the parents last week!)

As for "lipstick", I think I'll stick to Maybelline *lmso* ;)

xx
If you think that's embarrassing you should see Sky (female) humping Badger (male)

Had to tell the kids she was getting a piggyback

Thanks everyone for your replies.
It makes me feel a lot better knowing it's normal. (only had bitches)
Also It's been quite funny hearing what other people call it.
I'm going to be lost for words if ever the children spot it though (10 & 7yrs) Any ideas!!.
Don't know if this works for other people, but if I make my boy stand up and walk forward he puts his lipstick back in its case!

im sure if men where as flexable theyd be disappearing for ages too

, my wish for male dogs is that theyd have colour co-ordinated "PENCILS" it would look so much nicer im sure :D

Yep, We get the 'flypaper' waved around at every possible opportunity - pooing, grooming, and especially entertaining the kids in the local park!!!!!
We thought it would stop after neutering, but we're five years down the line now and it's still as rampant as ever!!!! :-)

Lol at all the posts My Sydney's has also started appearing more and more these day only 19weeks. I remember my last dog had a lump in his sheath and I was so worried I rang my sister only to be told dont worry he's probably been masturbating and it will dissapear. in a while. It certainly worried me at first finding this lump there so incase this happens to you Michelle you'll at least be forwarned.
Best of luck with your boy!
