Dozer has a bald spot about the size of a nickle or a quarter by his elbow. Totally bald. It was scabby but not no more and no fur has grown in at all. I cleaned it and everything. Doesn't hurt him at all. At first I was thinking ringworm but none of the other dogs have it and it has not spread at all, he doesn't seem to itch it either. Any ideas on what it could be? I was thinking a bug bite but could that cause a round bald spot like that and that big? I just checked him it seems to have the odd hair poking up but mostly all bald :( really has me stumped :(. My vet isn't back till the end of the month so I'll be taking him in with Junior and T-Bone cause they have to get their yearly shots.

ttfn :)

Hi Dollface,
It sounds similar to patches Baillie has on both his elbows!
We first noticed them after we picked him up from kennels, 3 years ago now, the vet assured me that they were nothing sinister, maybe a sore or a scratch, which was then infected with dirt and perhaps aggrevated by lying on the concrete in the kennels. They were very sore looking for a few days, but no medication was needed, and 3 years down the line, they're still there, although they are soft and pliable now, they don't bother him one bit! I just put Vaseline on them now and again, but they're still baldy! :)
Hope that helps,
Sharon

Maybe a callous? Its only on the right leg and he doesn't lay on cement, blankets in the kennels (indoor vari kennels). None of my other boston terriers have this. Taz my hybrid has callous. Maybe I'm just being over worried, planning on making a vet appt by the 27th or sooner if she is back. It is soft and not rough at all. Just weird :(

Thank you for the reply :)
