My 11 month old Border Terrier has been perfectly housetrained for ages and has a dog flap into garden however in the past week she has had the odd accident in the house.
I'm going to take her to the vet to rule out a bladder infection, could it be this do you think? Other than that what could be causing this new behaviour?

Is she perhaps due to come into season ? If so they sometimes do have accidents. Does she seem to be weeing alot more at all and is there any blood in the wee? This may well be a sign of infection.

she has been spayed and doesn't seem to be weeing an awful lot more, I am going to get the vet to check her out though.

Might be wise to get her checked out. Has she been upset by anything as well in the last week that you can think of that may have unsettled her ?

What age was she spayed at?
It could be that she is going to be one of the occasional bitche's that become slightly incontinent after spaying.
Or of course it could be a simple bladder infection.
Has anything changed in your lifestyle recently as BT's are notorious for being creatures of habit and get quite thrown out of routine by something different.

My Cairn is 8 months and has started to wee in the house. She would sometimes do it if she had a full bladder and got overexcited, but that no longer seems to be the case. Yesterday afternoon she weed on my bedroom carpet. This afternoon we walked into the house and in the next minute she peed on the carpet.
If it keeps up I will take her to the vet to check for a bladder infection, but it is very unlikely since she isn't weeing more often than usual. In the meantime, I am going back to making sure she is taken outside to wee regularly, even though like you I too have a dog flap. She will even get up in the middle of the night to use it. It just seems if she has a very full bladder she does not bother.
In my puppy's case it may be hormones starting to kick in -- but "teenagers" sometimes will break housetraining and there really does not have to be a reason behind it.
Aggravating, isn't it?
