Hi, well after all of your help last week on trying to decide what dog would be best for a home with an asthmatic daughter? to give up on the Labradoodles, ? husband not too keen on Poodles! and after contacting one or two rescue breeds i was left feeling even more confused!,i was offered some very suspect pedigrees,, so after great debate with the family we decided to look at rescueing again ,after all Chloe was such a gem,(B Collie x T.T.)so we spent the week visiting various dog homes .We had our home check with the lady from Battersea dogs home ,what a loveley lady! unfortunatley the dog we found there needed to be homed with another dog and try as i might they would not relent. she had been taken home on many occasions and returned,i am sure i could have made a difference, but they are the experts so with a heavy heart we left .Then we found her,!!!!! R.S.P.C.A.at Chobam in Surrey,Amy (my daughter) and i have walked her , held her, cuddled her and , fed her Smakos !!, love at first sight !!, we are going back tomorrow as a family , and hopefully by next week we should be able to bring her home, we are told she is a Westie, beautiful though she is i think mum or dad may have been Cairn Terrier, i shall keep you posted !.P.S.does anyone know of any good obedience classes in the Camberley area?

Hi Sue
Congratulations - I bet she's just gorgeous ! :) :)
What's her name? Sorry can't help with the obedience classes as I live in Scotland!
Contact your local vets - they should have details of classes in your area.

Hi Sharon, i did waffle on a bit didnt i ! i am just so excited about her , her name is going to be Lola! and the reason for this is when we said we wanted her they told us they had all had quite a laugh about her as when she was taken into the R.S.P.C.A. they were told she was a male dog and his name was Jake, on closer inspection they found that she was most certainly a little girl ,(very observant her owners dont you think!)so they called her Jacki,I asked if it was possible to have an hermaphrodite dog (only slightly tongue in cheek?) i was told she is not and she is definatly female ! so i dont know if you are old enough to remember The Kinks a band of the 60s if you do you should remember the song Lola, trust me there is a link! ,anyway she is a sassy looking little dog and definatly looks like a Lola ! thanks for your post and great idea about the vets,!where abouts in Scotland are you ?my daughters boyfriend is from Inverness we were there last year Beautiful!

Hi everyone, well i just could not stay away i took Luisa (the daughter with the asthma)over to meet Lola this morning, i also took my friend Jenny , when we arrived they went off to collect her ,and she flew through the door to me (i like to think she knows me allready!!)both Luisa and Jenny burst out laughing they say Lola is the canine double of me !!!!!!! you know i hate to admit it but i think they may have a point, we are both blonde and both more than a little hyper!(those obedience classes should be fun! ) anyway she has to have her little op tomorrow, and hopefully we can bring her home on saturday, this is going to be worse than waiting for christmas morning!!i am off to buy her a new lead and collar by the way whats the best type for a dynamic little dog ,and by the way it seems she is Westie x llasa apso(hope i spelt that right!)thanks for all of your posts it really is lovely sharing all of this with like minded doggy friends, my family and friends keep (gently)reminding me that i am repeating myself ! JUST CAN NOT HELP IT ! bye for now stay safe ! Sue T. P.S.luisa has not had any reaction to lola !!!!!!!!! YES !!!!!!!!.p.p.s do you really think people either choose or grow to look like their dogs ?have to admit thinking about it i know a few who definatley bear more than a passing resemblance!!x
