I would like to try Tardac on my 10 month old dog to see if the change in hormones would help resolve a skin pigment problem he has, which is preventing me from showing him. I have heard that the Tardac injection can cause permenant hair loss or change of hair colour around the injection site which would negate the point of using it for me. Does anyone have any views or experience as I cannot find a lot of info regarding the risks. (My vet also seems to be very reluctant to try it. I asked if the injection could be given say in the leg and the answer I got was no.) Thanks Mandy
Hi Mandy. I have used Tardak with no negative effects or side effects, but I have also never heard of it solving a pigment problem, the drug is not designed for that. If your dog lacks pigment I would think it likely he will remain that way whatever yo try. Where is the pigment loss and what breed it he? Dawn.
