hi my cocker bitch has started eating raw new potatoes is this normal? will they cause her any harm?- in which case i will move them out of her reach. she is six weeks pregnant at the mo so could that be anything to do with her sudden craving? i'd appreciate any help you can give me on this one! thanks

hi lizzy. all my labs try to nick potatoes at every opportunity and it hasn't done them any harm yet, but it does get annoying when they fight over them:)

Hi - i was under the impression that raw potato is poisenous.... I'd check with the vet :)

well ill stop her from eating them until iv checked with the vet but they don't seem to make her ill or any thing! i suppose shes just a greedy cocker! thanks for the info!

If its the same as with horses then its GREEN potato that is poisonous.My 2 elks love potato and I quite often find a half eaten spud in the garden that one of thems nicked out of the rack!!

My lot ate a whole 25k sack once when I was out,and also pinch the spud peeling out of the sink!

That could be it actually - green. I just can't remember :)
