My bitch is due to welp next week, and something has been bothering me. She'd been panting alot because of the heat (and because she's so HUGE), how will I be able to tell when she goes into the panting stage of whelp?
Will we just have to keep an eye on her for other signs? Will she pant more?

hi! my bitch is now six weeks pregnant and iv noticed that she's panting a bit to but shes too early for labour so i thinks its a combination of the heat and the puppies putting pressure on her. more than likely it is the heat thats making your bitch pant but if her temperature has dropped, shes gone off her food and she won't leave her bed and she continues to pant heavily this is probably the first stage of labour. however this is only inforamtion iv gained of this board because im expecting my first litter so if you are really worried then you can check with your vet or an experienced breeder. i think its a case of wait and see how she goes on! hope iv helped you a little bit!
