I have a four year old bitch who is a bit of an embarrassment in the ring. She will not stand still, keeps up a continual yapping and jumps up at every opportunity(not at the judge fortunately. You may think she just needs training but she is as good as gold at ringcraft also when we are training at home. She will stand and look beautiful for hours if we'd let her. Its something she only does at shows. shes happy on the bench but starts misbehaving as soon as we get ringside and continues into the ring. she is a good bitch and we have plenty of RCC's with her but I am sure her behaviour puts some judges off and stops her going further. I don't know whether she is stressed out by the show scene (yet she is a very laid back dog and not nervous in any way) or is just overexcited. I was thinking of trying Skullcap and Valerian from Dorwest. Has anyone tried these for similar problems and do they work. Also do they slow the dog down on the run for I don't want her to be sluggish.
thanks in advance Kirsty

have you tried her with someone else handling her ,just to see, she may not be inclined to take a lend of someone else, its worth thinking about, she'll have it sussed that you wont be hard on her at real shows ,whereas at the classes she knows better,
osmonds do a herbal additive called no stress, its liquid and has had good results ,it can be added to the food at home leading up to show day ,then given before you bench her and before going in the ring, its worth a try ,my guess is its a learned behaviour she keeps for you and the ring, just out of interest what breed is she
