Hi, I have a 9 month old Basset Hound and he measures about 12" to his withers. I have read that they sould be between 13"-15" tall, but can't believe he can grow that much more. I'm not worried about it cos he's gorgeous and still fits on my lap for cuddles but I was just curious to know when they stop growing. I thought they would have done most of it by now and just started to fill out a bit?

Bassets are quite big dogs really (just got little legs) and I would say he probably still has a bit more growing in him. Unfortunately it is more difficult with the short legged breeds to see whether they have any growth left or not as they tend tohave oversized knuckles in any event. However, as long as he is fit and healthy I wouldn't worry too much about the breed standard size :D
