My puppy Molly is almost 6 months old, she is due to be spayed next week, I am wanting to know how I recognise her first season just in case - apart from the obvious 'messy' signs what else should i be looking for ?

Not all dogs have messy seasons. Some do no bleeding or very little. my 2 year old girl has virtually no colour at all. Generally speaking I can tell from her swollen rose bud. This is generally very obvious. Some can be a little touchy or clingy but again not all.
