Sam
I was always told by an old Sheltie breeder that a puppy should have stood on 7 different textured surfaces by the age of 7 wks, even if it is a whimp they have to learn to live in the world.
They do get over this beleive me I have just sent the whimp of my litter to stay with some friends for a wk as he really was upset by small children, not a general problem with Schipperkes more likely to be partners in crime! It only took him 2 days with them to be a strong happy confident little chap again - the only problem I've got now is I need a 2 yr old to show him for his new owners as he refuses to stand for anyone above 3 ft tall!
You just have to keep at it with her and ignore her whimpering so that she will learn that it's not going to hurt her to be wherever she is at that time. The more fuss you make the worse she will get, just watch to make sure she's not in any danger.
Hi Sam,
Try feeding her on different surfaces and different places
Good luck
Christine

Your rough collie, sheltie breeds do have problems with different floorings, especially shiny floors. What breed is your puppy?
