My male dog started attacking my female during the 2nd week of her coming in season. I have now had to leave her at a friends house because of this. is it common for a Male to become aggresive towards the female during her "time"?

Is he just a bit rough in his courting? Any real aggression is almost unheard of at this time. His mind would be on one thing and one thing only and thats not attacking!

i think that it must be his way of wooing her, my male lab gets very rough when the girls are in season, not that they are reluctant participants, but i usually have to send him on holiday till it all dies down:)men!!

*giggle* Men (persistant) Thanks for the reply. Well one thing is for sure, he definately wants her but if she comes near me or tries to walk away he bites her face. The poor thing was constantly hiding her face in corners so he couldn't get near her. I don't mind if he tries to mate with her but the aggresion is really bad. I heard that there is a tablet that takes the "heat" smell away. Has anyone heard of this?
