Hello there

I just wanted to pick the brains of any dachshund breeders out there!

I have a beautiful 11 month old mini smooth haired dachshund who is only 6 pounds in weight but perfectly fit and healthy! My question is, she is currently in her first season and I am trying to debate whether I should have her neutered or not - obviously im not even thinking about breeding from her yet - but im thinking she probably wont ever be big enough to carry pups and I obviously dont want to put her in any danger.

Seeing as she hasnt grown in 3 months - Im not convinced that she'll suddenly grow now!

I suppose Im just really asking your advice! If you had a 6 pound beautiful mini smooth dachs would you mate her? Obviously I am not a breeder and if I was planning on mating her I would have to seek professional advice all the way through.
