Hi,I took my girls temp this morning because she felt very warm,she is 56/57 days pregnant.Anyways the temp was 99.7 (which seemed to cool),so I took my boys temp and his was 101.2.Do girls temps usually drop several days before they whelp?Thanks

They do, but not usually this early, although doubtless by now if your bitches temp dropped then she will probably have had the pups by now!

Nope, no pup(s)yet.I just took her temp today (day 58/59) and it was 98.0.She is shivering but then again she is a chihuahua and they shiver more than most dogs:)Thanks for answering my post.Melanie

Melanie, my dogs temp went up and down for the last 4 days before she whelpped. I was sure she would have them Thursday night as her temp dropped and she had been panting for 5 hours but no pups. It wasn't until about 48 hours later that she started second stage labor and then had 11 pups
