Hi,
We have a 6 month old Border Collie Pup,
When she was sick she also bought up what looked like small white worms!!!
what is this and what has caused it? And what do we do about it???
Does she need to see the vet or can we treat her with something??
Is it serious??

Take her to the vet and he will probably give you drontal or panacur wormer, after having checked her out for anything more serious. When was she last wormed with one of these two products? It should be once a month for the first six months.

As Monty's Mum said, your puppy has worms, which are easily eradicated by a strong worm medicine that your vet can prescribe. Pups should be wormed once a month till they are 6 months old, then every three months after that for the rest of their lives.

Left untreated, your dog could become seriously ill, so visit the vet as soon as you can.

Had the same thing happen to me guest when I aquired a young Springer Spaniel. He honked up a wriggling mass of worms in the back of my car :(

It's common for dogs to pick up worms - that's why it is a recommendation to keep them regularly wormed every few months as a preventative measure. They can cause a lot of problems for the dog and blindness in humans :(

Hey I read today that they're bringing out a Drontal XL- for dogs over 35kg:) so now I won't have to give Kassie 3 tablets- I can just give her the one:D
