my bitch is on her 60th day,she seems to panting from time to time,she also has a small amount of clear discharge could this be that the birth could be under way.her temp is 36

i have the same question...today is day 63 for my dog. Yesterday when she went out there was a clear mucus that came out and then the same today...her temp has been around 98-99 the past week. She hasnt been eating to much but other then that she seems normal. Do you think she will go into labour soon? This is the first litter for both of us so im a little nervous. Thanks

If either of you get an answer PLEASE let me know. My dog is on the who knows what day. Has had discharge for 6 days now--and the nesting and such( she keeps hiding under blankets) She's still eating BUT alas NO PUPS> I am getting sick over this. When i breed my own for sure i will know when they mated:)

Labour can be quite hard to diagnose in the early stages as bitches often pant because there abdomen is so full and making them tired the tempreture method is fantastic in some cases in others it seems to be useless as I am finding out myself, my bitches temp has been up and down for the last two days but she is now sitting upright in her box looking at her rear parts so hopefully we are ready for pups tonight!! she is on day 64!
As for the eating and going off there food mine will often eat right up to a few ours before they give birth but they tend to pick through there food instead of pigging down and they often bring it back up.

:) My girl is just the same..temperatures going up and down like crazy, finally a bit of clear discharge, but apart from that, and staying all day long in her bed...nothing, she doesn't pant, she doesn't nest.....good luck to you all! My best wishes! :)
