Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Another Question-why does she nibble me?
- By lesley mackay [gb] Date 22.05.03 15:29 UTC
Hi again
Thanks to everybody who replied to my first question about my 14 month old lab still play biting but I also have another question :D
Sometimes when we tell her no when she's being mouthy she begins to nibble us instead, it can be our arms or legs which she nibbles and she does look exceptionally cute when she is doing it but it's puzzled me why she does it.
Does anybody out there know why dogs do this? Does anybody have a dog that does this?
Do you think she is being submissive after we have told her to stop mouthing us or is she trying to clean us????? :D

Hi My 5 year old collie does this a lot she doen't hurt, and usually only to me. I was told by a collie breeder that it is a submisive gesture Hope it is as My Aussie pup does it now.
