Hello,
I have just rescued a 14 month old Dog from a guy who had it on his yard with two Rottys and a pitbull.
The dogs were fighting all the time and he has the scars to show it. When he brought hm round he told me that he had hurt his back leg in a fight, and that he had been given anti-biotics for this.
Tyson has been with me now for four weeks and is a wonderful dog, but his leg is causeing me concern.
He seems to limp if he has been layed for a while, and I have just read about Cruciate Ligaments, does anyone know any way I can ease the pain?
Any suggestions would me much appretiated,
Thanks
Yours faithfully
Andi

Hi Andy
I agree with John. You need to see a vet. We also took on a rescue dog - her owner had died. She had trouble with both back legs, one more so than the other. We were told when we took her that it was the cruciate ligaments on the stifle joint. She was already on pain killers and was limited to 5 mins walk twice a day. After a few weeks of having he we took her to a vet and the diagnosis was confirmed. We had her operated on - at a cost of 250.00 and it took 4 months of slow recovery - building up her walks from 5 mins a day to 25 mins x 2 per day. It is not a condition which goes away but deteriorates with age. Please go get your dog checked properly even if just to eliminate this condition.
