Not sure about most breeds but in bullmastiffs it tends to be the price of a puppy or pick of the litter, but each breeder has their own agenda on this matter. You would need to speak to them to find out what they would expect. Karen.

Usually roughly the price of a puppy - more if the dog is a very well-known Champion proven to sire quality pups.

It depends entirely on the breed & the individual stud dog owner - there is no average stud fee which applies across the board. In some breeds, it's the equivalent to the price of a puppy but in others (like my own breed, Cockers), it is quite a bit less than the price of a puppy.

They seem to vary quite drastically - by £175 in my case. For my breed (Labrador) the fee was apx 1/2 to 2/3 of the price of a puppy. Hope this helps. Also check if the stud dog owner is happy to do a Free Return if the bitch misses.
