I got fed up with my pup crying when I put her to bed by the second night, relented and let her into my bedroom. She never cried again, but then, thirteen years later, that is still the only place she will sleep!!!!
Sorry I can't be more helpful.

'fraid the biggest consideration when buying a new bed 2 months ago was if there was enough room for the dogs, and would a footboard hinder them:D

Julia.
I find it hard to believe that they make a big enough bed to give us and our dogs enough room! My Beardie always lies diagonally across the bed (usually upside down) leaving me clinging on to a tiny triangle at the top. When I get fed up, I roll him over. He sleeps on. Minutes later though he manages to steal back anything I have gained. I sometimes wonder if I should get out and walk round to the other side, the three quaters of the bed that is empty, and try sleeping there. Come to think of it, I will try that tonight and keep you posted.

I havent got to 7 months yet with mine but I do know its when the dreaded teenage stage starts!!!!!!!!
Maybe hes just trying to rebel against being on his own at night
I think it would be best to just carry on ignoring him.
It might tae a bit longer than when he was a pup but he'll stop it eventually

Hi thanks for the advice i would let him sleep in the bedroom if thats where he would stay but he wouldnt he tries endlessly to get into the kids room or jump over me all night so im stuck there but he is acting verty odd lately being very naughty and for such a little dog he chews an awful lot and still mega hyper

Hi
Have you tried leaving a radio on in the room where he sleeps ?
I did this with both my dogs & still do some times when i'm out.

Hi
Just a quick note to ask what type of dog it is and what type of food/how often do you feed it?
It might be that you are either feeding it too much and or the food has too higher protein levels, making him hyper and a little anxious and or bored, hence the chewing etc.
It might help if you reduce its food allowance if it appears that you are feeding it to much and to check the protein levels as many dogs reaching 12 mths old are generally fed on or around 20 % protein levels but puppy food is and needs to be a little higher.
Regards

He is a cav king charles and he has nature diet 1 pack a day with a few treats in between is that to much or not enough do you think:)

Hi Happybunny
How's he getting on with the Naturediet? Has his upset tum calmed down now?
If he's not getting podgy, ie. you should be able to run the flat of your hand along his side and feel his ribs a bit, he is probably ok. (Saffy is 8 months old now, and has about 2/3rds of a pack a day, plus some biccies etc,) but she is a bitch and probably smaller than your pup.

He is fine on the nature diet thanks, but he has been neuterd today at 8 mnths vet recommended it as he kept running off on me when out in the park after the female species and as i dont intend to breed i agreed he was also getting very aggressive towards dogs and people but he seems fine and he is his correct weight

Aha, this rings a bell.
Fear periods is what this could be about, usually dogs go through 2 main fear periods which are at 8-12 weeks and 7-10 months, not necessarily for all of that time.
During that time a dog may experience exaggerated fears and anxiety. It is as the name suggests just a period they go through. Try not to cause the dog any extra source of anxiety and just stick with what you are doing.
you will find that normal service will be resumed soon enough.
Cheers
John

I take it you been through the same thing then only ive been sleeping on the sofa for a week from 2oclock in the morn onwards just for the peace and so he dont wake the kids its hard going. I was thinking of getting a crate for him to sleep in in my room with the crate door closed so he doesnt attempt to get in the kids room do you think its ok to do this or is it to late for a crate? :)
