could anyone tell me if tripe for a new mum is ok? at the minute she wont eat a great deal just a bit of weetabix now and again ,i want to start her on tripe but wanted to know if it was ok first? thanx....

Hi,

Yes tripe is very good for new mums, as is Ox-Cheek (if you can get it), this is what we fed our last bitch when she was pregnant and after the pups were born.

You could always use Naturediet Optima, this is only available through the breeders club, so you would need to phone them, but it is fantastic stuff, we have used this in the past and our bitch came off her litter fatter than she was when she was mated, it was FAB. :D

Where do you get ox cheek from since it is banned in this country? Tripe is excellent also hearts lambs or ox. Also beef and tripe mix. Laughing Dog natural mixers and their Natural 19 meal are great

Where can you get the Laughing Dog products from? I haven't seen them since the 70's - they were brilliant! I'd love to find a supplier again.
