Hi. I have just aquired a new dog. She is a 4yo labrador that was advertised as needing a new home on the internet. I collected her on Saturday (private rehoming) and she's absolutely beautiful. I am now wondering though, whether I should have had anything in writing to say that she's been given to me. The owner wouldn't accept any money for her, just wants her to have a happy life. The dog is a purebred but was never registered with the KC. I don't have any papers or anything for her, I literally just came away with the dog.

I bet she's gorgeous! If you're worried about the ownership issue, why don't you give her previous owner a ring and ask if she could pop something in the post, which just confirms that she has passed ownership of the dog onto you. It will put your mind at rest!
