Where is the best place (safest) for a labrador to sit in a people carrier? The boots are very small, not big enough to put a cage in. I'm assuming the best place is the front seat?

Hi,
Does your rear seats fold or remove to give more boot space.
We have a vauxhall Zafira and 4 children plus ourselves ,2 seats at front ,3 middle seats
taken up ,and the 2 back seats 1or2 can be folded flat,We fold one of these still leaving plenty
of space for 2 Goldens also.It has whats called flex 7 seating arrangement. You can also get a cage in if you prefer.
Don't know about other people carriers?

The seats fold. I'm nervous about putting a lab in the back unrestrained in case we had an accident, so I suppose a cage would be better if I can find one the right size. Is there a good or bad type of cage to buy?

Hi, you may have to get one specially made to fit the shape of your car and the size you require
There are several companies Croft do some
also try www.barjo.co.uk
www.trystorme.co.uk tel:01241828528
www.dogcages.uk.com (Guardsman) tel: 01827 713040
Any of these should be able to advise you good luck.
Briony :-)

I'm told that the safest place for a dog in a car is in the passenger footwell (if travelling unrestrained).
:)
