Hi All,
Haven't been on line for a while, well since we got the little lad he seems to have taken up most of our time. He is fantastic, a real gem, ultra intelligent and so cute BUT (!) since w days ago has taken to peeing all over my carpet, and also in the kitchen (hardfloor). He was totally toilet trained up till then. He is 14 weeks old, and has been toilet trained for 5 weeks. I wouldn't mind an accident or two, but he is running into the front room and squatting then going back into his bed!!!!
Can anyone help me out here, is he going through early adolescence!!

First to the vet to check he has no infection. Running from his bed to pee is what training is all about, but instead of going to the door he's is just leaving his bed and going on the floor. Now if every thing is ok and he has no health problem I would think something has happened to stop him doing what ever he used to do when he let you know he wanted to go out. Are you perhaps not offering as much as you did before. Or has something upset him outside. Have a think, there has to be some reason why he would rather go inside when up to now he has been happy to go out.

I can't think of anything that has upset him or changed his view on peeing outside, we have a totally enclosed back garden, lots of trees and shrubs for him to hide in, no kids. The only thing i can think of is i didn't take him out for a 'full' walk over the last couple of days due to intense rainfall, but should that affect his toilet behaviour?
I have called the vet and am awaiting a callback. I hope there is nothing wrong.

Sooz - do you still give him lots of praise when he goes outside and big no's when he goes inside? Go right back to basics with him as he is still very very much a baby and people often forget to still praise them once they are doing it right. Puppies do forget as they learn hew things anyway - so start again and he'll be OK.
