Help please,
I have a 10 week old Lab puppy she has been with us for 1 week now.
She has settled down really well but I was wondering how much sleep she needs? Currently, she seems to be sleeping for about eight hours at night and napping for most of the day. Also, she yawns alot during the day.
Can anyone assist?

Dont worry- pups sleep alot!!!! ;)
I remember when Gus was that age he would sleep, wake up for a wee, sleep , have something to eat , sleep , mouth you to bits , sleep and so the day went on .
Lel
nothing to worry about .
Even now at nearly 7 months he still like his sleep though not so much mind you

Depends on the pup - our Aussie hardly slept at all during the day :)

Mine is 6 months old now and sleeps whenever she wants, when she was a smaller pup she slept loads, not as much now I'd just leave her when she's asleep and play when she wakes,.
Sleep is as important as food and love when they are little. Just think how irritated you are if you get woken up from a nice sleep ;)

My pup sleeps loads too. I was a little concerned that she slept too much, but she certainly isn't docile when she is awake. She now sleeps a little less, she is 4 months, but not much. It seems that when she has been awake for about an hour she will go to her bed and sleep for a few hours. Then wake and so on. In the evenings she is awake from about 4.30 when the kids come in I keep her awake until about 6 or 7 she has supper and then thats it till morning. She goes out for a wee at 11 and then back to bed till 7 a.m. So as long as you don't think theres anything wrong, relax and enjoy the peace:D

hehehe, i have a 10wk old pup too and he sleeps for about 7 hours at night and then a few good sleeps during the day.
he does have a routine so that helps. usually he wakes at 7 goes out to toilet, plays for a while then has breakfast at 8, plays a little more then sleeps for about 2 hours, gets up plays/training and has lunch then he plays and the day just continues like that, sleep toilet play toilet eat toilet play toilet sleep toilet play toilet eat......
i think it does not matter how much or when they sleep but you should try not to disturb them. Sleep is very imprortant and keeps them happy (noting worse than a whingy sleepy pup lol)
i find that Monty sleeps more when he has a sudden growing phase. usually he will sleep for a couple of days and grow! This is only because he needs all the energy for his growth.
Enjoy your pup :) Rox

thanyou very much for the kind responses, all I need to worry about now is the toilet training because she insists on doing her business in the wrong part of the garden and also chewing up all my plants.
Thankyou again Zoe
