i recently bought a puppy from a breeder but when i recieved the documents ( posted as they were'nt ready) it was not kc registered. I asked for it to be registered and when i rang she ordered me to return the puppy. i refused and asked her to register it and send me my papers. She still refused. I have now been told the father is not registered as his number is missing on the pedigree (which i believe was home made on a pc). I know she sold at least two as kc registered and believe they had a different sire(a registered name) named on the pedigree. I believe i have the real fathers name and she wants it back so i dont realise the scam. She also wanted 150.00 extra for the registration as my m8 rang and asked the price difference for registered and unregistered. I have since cancelled the cheque that made up part of the payment for the puppy. Where do i stand in this.

If she advertised these puppies as KC registered then you can contact trading standards as this clearly is a breach. If, however, she did not make any such claims then you have no rights with regards to this aspet of the sale. If what you are saying is correct then you can also contact the Kennel Club and report this matter to them.

Hi GUEST
do you have any of this KC reg agreement in writing or in an advert anywhere that you could produce ?
Also if you have cancelled a cheque then she could by rights take you to court because cancelling a cheque is like with holding money.
Don't get me wrong I think what this woman has done to you is dispicable and we hear of so many people that have this done to them it's dreadful ,but please dont get your self in trouble because of her wrong doing.
I would definitely report her to trading standards and also the kennel club.
good luck
Tracey

what a nightmare you're having, i can't believe people could be so deceitful.my breeder recently was very lax in coming up with the paperwork until i got the kennel club involved and they gave me some fantastic advice.it's not looking good though if the sire isn't kc registered.good luck:)

I think Miloos right if the sire is not KC registered the puppy is not eligable for KC registration you do however have a case against the breeder it is against the law to advertise KC registered until you have the papers in your hand! even if the papers are being processed you must put KC applied for! :)
