Hi,

My pup very much likes playing with three very cheap toys. He has a plastic squash bottle; a sturdy cardboard box and a roll of newspaper covered in fabric (that used to be a door stop  ).
Does anyone have pups (or adults) that have favourite 'cheap' toys?
Oh, yes, and he loves ice cubes :)

Yes Rufus is obsessed with ANYTHING that isn't
intentionally his!!, especially mobile phones, wallets, keys etc :-)

But seriously his favourite as to be the posh cylinder tins that
some whiskey bottles come in. He plays with it on the flagged
floor in the kitchen, and rolls it round growling, chasing and
diving on top of it! He has so much fun with it.
In fact, it is also interactive as it makes a loud clanging
noise which makes it even more boisterous for him!

He only gets to play with it once or twice a week though
otherwise I would be constantly nursing a headache :-)

My dog and pup love the cardboard bit of a tiolet roll! Pup loves to chew on it and tear it to pieces :)

Also a fun game...when you have finished a kitchen roll fold over one end (tight) and put a treat inside then fold over the other end and they can smell the treat but have to rip in to the tube to get it out! They love it! :) Ive thought about plastic but im worried incase any sharp bits happen or he swallows a bit so ill stick to digestable paper lol!

mine all love empty plastic pop bottles which they flatten, wait for them to spring up then attack them, also empty toilet rolls, and old tights are good if you knot a few together they make very strong tug toys.they would alll rather play with these than any of the shop bought toys i keep bringing home.

Hi Louise

>He only gets to play with it once or twice a week though otherwise I would be constantly nursing a headache<

Is that because you get through a bottle of whiskey each week, or because of the noise the cylinder makes? :D

LOL @ jo :-)

BOTH!! - No actually cannot stand Whiskey so I steal
beg and borrow them off people!

Ciders more my thing..ice cold out of the fridge, in a long
glass and nice and dry...mmmm licking my lips now,

I agree - hurrah for Friday!

Best night of the week ... two days off ahead of you, the opportunity to procure two bad hangovers without having to make it in to work the next day. The possibilities are endless!

I used to be a cider drinker at uni - used to love woodpecker.

HI

My pup has her favourites that she sleeps with and always takes out into the garden with her; they are Monster Inc Mike, Po (teletubby) and a small furry dog :-) all originally given to her as a small pup, by my daughter. These have to be washed every week or so, as they can end up quite smelly, particulary if left on damp lawns etc...

Apart from that she loves the occassional loo roll and she has had fun rolling empty water bottles around. Outside she goes crazy with footballs (I think it's because she cant pick them up!). If i'm busy working in my office and have to make an important phone call I find a screwed up peice of photocopy paper keeps her amused for just long enought (although loads of clearing up afterwards)

Karen.

My dog LOVEs the balls which you put washing liquid in. She spends ages flinging them about.
She is also quite parcial to dragging knickers around the house (much to my embarrisment when I come home with people).

When we first brough pup home we weren't very prepared - and as it was after 5pm on a Sunday our local pet super store had closed. So we had a look in our sock draw and picked out 2 odd socks and knotted them together (very tightly) and the pup loved them. 5 weeks later they're still one of his favourites. (I went straight out the next morning and bought some toys though!)

Tilly loves it when i've got an empty half dozen egg box. I put some treats and a bit of her complete food in it, then tie it up tightly with some string. She tosses it about in the garden growling at it and 'pouncing' (ooh scary ;) ) until shes ripped it apart. I hide different sized treats so that the bigger the hole she makes, the bigger the treats that fall out.

Apart from anything that is dropped, like underwear on its way to the washing machine, Oscar loves egg boxes, kitchen roll tubes and particularly tupperware containers, either the tops or the bottoms. He also has an old trainer of mine with the laces still on. He holds it by the laces and shakes his head so that it hits him at the side of the head. This makes him growl and he shakes it even more, and so it goes on and on. But the best toys are pieces of wood that he has found on the park that are much larger than he is. He drags them all the way back home only to find that for some strange reason, he's not allowed to take them indoors.

When my old Lab was a pup she used to love the 2 litre plastic bottles filled with water, she had great fun when the water started squirting out of a milllion and one holes. We used to have to collect bottles from all the neighbours too!
My current XBreed Honey has had a knotted walking sock since she was a pup, she is now 5, it has been through hell (:)) but she still will not swap it for an identical one (I kept it's partner just in case)

Tillys mummy
Thats a great idea - I'll give it a try and let you know how we get on - do you mean the see through egg boxes or will a cardboard one do?
