I have a maiden that we are trying to get bred I think she is on day 10 and the stud dog we are using is experienced and when he trys she snaps and doesn't want to stand for him. Any input would be greater appreciated, I don't want to miss on her.

It is quite early some bitches dont stand until day 16 + so I would try her again in a couple of days.
In some bitches the blood will turn to clear/straw coloured disharge and the vuvla will become very soft/flabby
It is possible to get a pre-mate test done to predict when the bitch is ready for mating some people swear by them personnally I prefer to let nature take its course

Thanks for the input. Right now her discharge is still very red. Also I'm noticing she is sleeping alot. Her appettite is good though.

i had a bitch once that was a right tart when in season she would do any thing for a dog to have a snif her (and the rest :) ) we found a very good stud dog but he was not intrested in her at all we tried form about 12 days on but no he was not having any of it, i realy wanted this stud dog but did not want to miss another season so i found one of his brothers and used him, my bitch was the some a right tart again :) this time the mating went as planed until they tied because she went mad she would not stand still at all, she was fine when i was holding hee but she tock us all for a slow walk around the gardan, (the dog did not mind) she nealy bite the dogs owner because he got to close, we did end up with 5 very nice puppies

i know it has notheing to do with your bitch but are they all this hard hahaha L)
