what qualifications would you need to judge at shows. no im not looking for a career move just interested. as i think everyone has there own interpretaion of a good breed, judges must differ immensly in there views and judgements. i think being thick skinned is probably one of the qualities because i suppose everybody judges a judge.

What sort of judge are you interested it, open, championship, AV, Group or BIS. They are all different and a bit complecated as it changes from breed to breed, so it you can define it a bit it would help to give you a sensible answer.

Emma, think you may be talking from the USA as the terms you are using are not used in the UK, well not the way you are using them any way, we don't have a group of dogs called minatures.

Didn't look, in which case EM not sure what it is you want to know. If it is for a particular breed the breed clubs will let you know what you need to do to get onto their B lists. It normaly means having been in the breed for a number of years 5 to 10, having had some success in the show ring. Some would want you to have breed dogs who have done well in the show ring. You will also need to take exams and attend a judging seminar and be passed as suitable. There are or may be other requirements but as I say it does differ from breed to breed.
