I am looking for a first class stud for my bitch, she is of excellent quality and type and the dog must also compliment her.The stud must be in the lincs area or be prepared to travel for mating. Firstly I don't know of any good stud dogs in the Lincs region, the GOOD studs I know off are situated a little further up north, and really it's usually not general practice for the stud to travel it is nearly always the bitch. Even if you do find a stud close to you it is not guaranteed to compliment your bitches lines. And if she is of excellent quality then you will want to use the BEST stud not the one most convenient.

Edited to add: Talk to your bitches breeder he/she will know your bitches lines better than anybody else and will/should be able to advise you on the best lines to use.

Alison's right, it's usual for the bitch to travel to the dog. If it's the other way round, the bitch owner pays the other's travel expenses.

And you must definitely use the most suitable dog, (who is unlikely to be the nearest!). Yours is not a common breed, so you are likely to have to travel a long way! So contact your bitch's breeder and discuss which dog would be most suitable, and give the best result.
