Can anyone tell me anything about PLL. How bad is it?
How do I know if my bitch is a carrier, even though she has been eye tested, clear? If, when I breed from her, one/some of the puppies end up with it what is the prognosis? I don't want to be responsible for breeding badly.

At the moment so far as I know there is no test for a dog being a carrier.

If an affected dog is mated then there is a chance of affected's, carriers and clears in the resulting pups.

The information I have from a friend who breeds Mini Bull Terriers is that the Animal Health Trust are trying very hard to find a DNA match so that testing can be done.

Your best bet at the moment is to try and ascertain if any dogs in her pedigree have been affected.

But to be honest until there is a test, you would just have to take a chance like everyone else does. I suggest if you breed puppies then you are honest with the buyers that there is a possible problem, and what to look out for
