I need to find a professional in the bicester area who can fit a dogflap into a conservatory panel, can anyone help reccommend someone please?

I've fitted a cat flap in a conservatory by changing one or both of the small glass bottom panels in the doors with a solid panel, any conservatory company could supply you with a panel to match your conservatory. Then fit a standard dog/catflap in to the panel making sure that its suitable for a 25 mm thick panel, any local tradesman could do this for you. Unfortunately I'm rather a long way from Bicester, although the mention of it brings back many happy memories of my days at St Davids Barracks, Graven hill.

Hi Louise

The chaps who built our conservatory fitted our dog flap for us. This has been put into a cotswold stone wall rather than a panel but any builder type tradesman should be able to do this for you. There are plenty of builders here (near Chipping Norton) but might be wrth getting a local to Bicester to do this. If you don't know of any I have quite a few friends who live in Bicester. I can contact them to see if they recommend anybody if that will help.

Hi Louise3

Just a thought; but have you checked dog-flaps out with your home insurance co?

I've heard some can get a bit funny about them, due to their size. i.e. someone could crawl through them :(

You will not be insured for the room you have the dog flap in. I have already checked this one out. All the contents of our conservatory are not insured but we have patio doors leading to the dining room that has proper dead locks and so that is OK for the rest of the house.
